he Route of the river Drwęca and the Ostróda-Elbląg channel

    The Drwęca river is an easy and picturesque canoeing route, eagerly visited by numerous amateurs of water sport holiday. For canoeists with camping luggage, the river is available whole year already from the outlet of Grabiczek at Idzbark. Further up, the amateurs of overcoming floristic obstacles may kayak in Spring with no additional load almost to the sources of the river, bearing in mind significant arduousness of such enterprise.
    The canoeing route of Drwęca forms also a unique water connections with other regions of the country due to elaborate channel system. In this way, beside the wide range of local trips on the nearby rivers, lakes and channels, an advanced canoeist has the opportunity to try a few long-distance trips, which include:
- the route from Ostróda through Elbląg to Gdańsk (along the Ostróda-Elbląg channel and the channelled rivers of Żuławy)
- „a small circle” of the Iława Lake District: by Drwęca from Ostróda, along Iławka to Iława, along Jeziorak Lake and the Iława and Elbląg channel through Miłomłyn back to Ostróda.
- The Great Circle of Warmia and Żuławy: by Drwęca from Ostróda, by Vistula and Nogat to Elbląg, and back to Ostróda along the Elbląg-Ostróda channel.
